Submit your work for a juried art show all about genius Nikola Tesla. All works of art will be eligible, including collage, mixed media, 3-D, photo, poetry, film, et al.

The Tesla Project is a one-day extravaganza celebrating the genius of Nikola Tesla. 2010 was our first year and we had over 30 participating artists, a line-up of bands, a Tesla Roadster, computer-enrichment activities for children, a film, a Tesla coil demo and how-to presentation, plus the performance based band ArcAttack. This year we’re planning for an equally electric event but plan on having the artwork up for two weekends, including a small reception on the July 2.

Eligibility:
We are currently seeking submissions for a juried art show with a Nikola Tesla theme. All works of art will be eligible, including collage, mixed media, 3-D, photo, poetry, film, et al.

Electronic Submission:
Artists must submit their applications electronically, along with entry fee, by midnight (CST) June 24, 2011 to TheTeslaProject@gmail.com. Jpg files should be 72 dpi–no more than 1600pix in any direction–with a file name of YourLastName_TitleOfWork (abbv.).jpg. (Send multiple emails if the email will be over 10 MB to assure we receive your application.) Please include a bio and your image list with Title, Technique, Date, and Price.

Entry Fee:
There’s a $10 entry fee per artist up to 3 entries; $5 for each additional. No maximum. Entrance fees must be received prior to June 24 via Paypal account TheTeslaProject@gmail.com or through snail mail to Pump Project, 702 Shady Lane, Austin, Texas 78702. If writing check, please write The Tesla Project” in the memo line.

Acceptance:
Artist acceptance emails will be sent by June 29. After work has been accepted, a substitution cannot be made nor a change in the sales prices or titles as stated in the application. Artwork must remain in the gallery for the entire exhibit. No early withdrawals. Pump Project will take the upmost care with your entries.

Sales/Promotions/Commission:
All selected work will be uploaded to our website TheTeslaProject.org by July 2 to showcase our July 9 event. Pump Project will handle all sales, collecting a 20% commission. Proceeds from the 2011 Tesla Project will benefit Pump Project as well as an educational non-profit still to be identified.

Juror Background:
Debra Broz, Pump Project. Most recently Debra’s work was selected for “New Art In Austin: 15 to Watch” (Austin Museum of Art, 2011) and “New American Talent 24”  (Arthouse, summer 2009). Debra works as acting director of Pump Project Art Complex gallery and studios.

Pick-up:
After the event, artwork will need to be removed by the artist or an agent for the artist by July 12th during pickup, which is from 7-9 PM. Pump Project and The Tesla Project are not responsible for any work that is not claimed by this time.
